Canon imageCLASS LBP253dw Driver– The LBP253dw looks like a typical office printer. It is not particularly small.
But honestly, I don’t mind that.
Once a printer is sitting in the corner of an office, I care much more about whether it works than how it looks.
I Really Like the Duplex Printing
The automatic two-sided printing is one of those features that sounds boring until you actually use it.
The LBP253dw can print on both sides of the paper automatically.
You don’t have to stand there, take the printed pages out, turn them around, and put them back into the printer.
That saves time, but more importantly, it saves paper.
For example, if I have a long document that doesn’t need to be printed on separate sheets, duplex printing can cut the paper usage almost in half.
For regular office work, I think this is one of the best features of the printer.
Print Quality Is What You Would Expect
Since this is a monochrome laser printer, I would not buy it for photos.
That isn’t what it is made for.
For normal documents, though, the print quality is good.
Text looks clean and easy to read. Reports, invoices, letters, tables, and other everyday documents are where this printer feels most comfortable.
If almost everything you print is black text on white paper, I don’t think you will have much to complain about.
That’s really where this printer makes sense.
Things I Like
There are quite a few things I still like about this printer:
- Fast printing
- Automatic two-sided printing
- Wi-Fi connection
- Ethernet connection
- 250-sheet paper tray
- Good text quality
- High-capacity toner option
- Useful touchscreen
- Good for offices that print lots of documents
Things I Don’t Like
It isn’t perfect, of course.
The printer is fairly large and heavy.
It also doesn’t make much sense if you need color printing.
And because it is an older, retired model, I would be a little more careful about buying one used.
The biggest thing I’d check is the condition of the particular printer you’re buying.
Two used printers of the same model can be completely different.
