Canon PIXMA TS9160 Driver Download– The Canon PIXMA TS9160 is a compact all-in-one inkjet printer designed mainly for home users who want good photo quality, sharp documents, scanning, copying, and wireless printing. It uses six separate ink cartridges, including photo-oriented inks, which is one reason it can produce attractive color photos.
Print Quality
The print quality is probably my favorite thing about this printer.
Normal documents look sharp and clean. Black text is easy to read, and color documents look good too.
But where I think the TS9160 really stands out is photo printing.
Photos look bright and detailed when I use good photo paper. I have printed family photos and a few other pictures, and I have been happy with the results.
The colors can look very nice when the ink and print head are in good condition.
I Like the Six Ink Cartridges
The TS9160 uses six separate ink cartridges.
I like this because I don’t have to replace all the colors when only one color runs out.
This is especially useful when printing photos because different colors can be used quite quickly.
The downside is that six cartridges can also mean higher ink costs.
If you print a lot, you will notice the ink cost.
Printing Documents
For everyday documents, I have no major complaints.
I use it for things like letters, forms, school documents, and other paperwork.
I don’t have to turn the pages over myself, which saves a little time and paper.
That said, I would not use this printer for a busy office. If you print hundreds of pages every day, there are better options.
For home use, it is more than enough.
Printing Photos
This is where I enjoy using the TS9160 the most.
I usually get good results with photo paper. Small photos look sharp, and the colors are generally nice.
Of course, the paper makes a difference.
Cheap paper can make the colors look different, while good photo paper gives much better results.
The condition of the printer is also important. If the print head is dirty or some nozzles are blocked, the photos will not look as good.
Ink Can Be Expensive
The only thing I don’t really like is the cost of ink.
The printer itself can be reasonably priced, especially if you buy a used one, but the ink is something you need to think about.
If you only print a few pages now and then, it is probably not a big problem.
But if you print lots of photos, you will go through ink much faster.
I have also seen compatible cartridges that cost less than the original ones. They can save money, but I would be careful with very cheap cartridges.
Some can cause color problems or may not be recognized by the printer.
Scanner and Copier
The scanner works well for normal jobs.
I use it for documents and photos, and it does what I need.
The copier is also handy when I just need a quick copy.
The one thing I wish it had is an automatic document feeder.
If I have a lot of pages to scan, I have to put each page on the glass myself. It is not a big deal for one or two pages, but it gets annoying with a large stack.
Wi-Fi
The Wi-Fi feature is very useful.
I normally don’t want another cable on my desk, so being able to print wirelessly is convenient.
Once the printer is connected to the network, printing from my computer is easy.
However, I would still test the Wi-Fi if buying a used TS9160. Older printers can sometimes have connection problems.
It Can Be Noisy
One thing I noticed is that the TS9160 is not particularly quiet.
Sometimes it makes quite a bit of noise when it starts up or cleans the print head.
It doesn’t bother me too much, but if you are looking for a very quiet printer, this probably isn’t the one.
Problems With an Older Printer
Since the TS9160 is an older model, I think the condition of the individual printer is more important than the specifications.
A printer that has been used regularly and looked after can still work very well.
But one that has been sitting unused for a long time may have blocked nozzles or other problems.
If I were buying one used, I would definitely ask the seller to print a nozzle check first.
I would also test a photo, a normal document, the scanner, the copier, Wi-Fi, and two-sided printing.
It only takes a few minutes, but it can save you from buying a printer with expensive problems.

My Overall Experience
After using the Canon PIXMA TS9160, I think it is a good home printer, especially if you care about photo quality.
I like the way it handles photos, and normal documents look good too. The Wi-Fi and automatic duplex printing are also features I use quite often.
The biggest thing I would consider is the ink cost.
And if you are buying a used one, don’t just look at how clean it looks. Test the printing first. A clean-looking printer with a bad print head can become an expensive problem.
For someone who already owns a TS9160 and it is working well, I would keep using it. It still does a good job for everyday home printing and photos.
