IJ Canon– The G3470 is ideal for people who print a lot and do not want to stress about ink. Thanks to Canon’s MegaTank refillable ink system, you can print thousands of pages at a much lower cost compared to regular ink cartridges.
Print Performance
The printer delivers clear text and colorful images with a maximum resolution of 4,800 × 1,200 dpi. Black documents print at around 11 images per minute, while color pages average about 6 images per minute. It’s not designed for speed competitions, but it’s more than fast enough for daily tasks like schoolwork, invoices, or reports. Double-sided printing is available, though it needs to be done manually.
One standout feature is borderless printing across many paper sizes, from A4 and Letter to popular photo sizes and square formats. This makes the G3470 surprisingly flexible for creative projects.
Ink That Lasts
Canon’s GI-41 ink bottles are the real highlight here. A single black bottle can print up to 6,000 pages on plain paper, or even more in draft mode. Color inks offer similar high yields, keeping refill frequency low. For photo printing, you can expect roughly 2,200 standard photo prints before the black ink runs out. The user-replaceable waste ink tank also helps extend the printer’s usable life.
Paper Handling
Despite its compact size, the G3470 supports a wide range of paper types. From everyday office paper to glossy photo paper, envelopes, labels, magnetic sheets, and iron-on transfer media, it covers more than most users expect. The rear tray holds up to 100 sheets of plain paper, which is enough for regular home or small office use.
Scanning and Copying
The flatbed scanner handles documents and photos up to A4 size, delivering clear scans for archiving or sharing. Copying is straightforward, with options for ID cards, borderless copies, and multi-page layouts. You can adjust copy size, brightness, and quality depending on your needs, and make up to 99 copies in one go.
Software Support
The PIXMA G3470 works with most major platforms, including Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, iOS, and Android. Canon includes helpful setup and maintenance tools to make installation easy, even for users who aren’t particularly tech-savvy.
